(T-14) Featuring Moneta seated, guarding the treasury safes, beside an open treasure chest (a pre-war design) this bill was issued 2 September 1861. Two sailors are depicted lower left. Fewer than 470,000 of these were issued; this one's serial number is 78,xxx with plate letter A and a D slightly elevated and to the right. The note was printed by Hoyer & Ludwig in Richmond, but does not bear their imprint. It is in very fine condition with two, very neat cut cancellations (xx) not at all uncommon for 1861 notes. A scare and collectible note.
