This is the attractive Ohio button with the Ohio state seal depicting a sheaf of wheat and a bundle of 17 arrows with the sun rising above the distant mountains. This one is Alberts OH7a with the backmark "M.C. Lilley & Co/Columbus, OH". Lilley made buttons for the Ohio state militia, and this one can probably be dated to the early 1870s. Condition is very fine with an extremely clear back mark and a slightly dulled finish.
