Listed as Tice VA261, this button features the Virginia state seal with Virtus sstanding with one foot on tyranny's left arm and the state motto �Sic Semper Tyrannus.� The backmark is �*Superior Quality*� which identifies this as a button made in the early 1860s by the Steele & Johnson Button Company. The face of the button has darkened quite a bit, but the image and the lettering are still quite gilded. A good, highly collectible, Confederate button. SOLD
