This is a rather elaborate cover with Liberty enshrined on top of a tall mountain. At the mountain's foot are people representing various walks of life rallying around the flag. The final words of the National Anthem are immediately under the engraving, followed by a quote from Andrew Jackson and the John Dix words, "If any one attempts to haul down the American Flag, shoot him on the spot." The drawing is tinted with red and blue ink and is quite moving. The envelope is unused and in excellent condition.
