This is a handwritten document prepared by a Lexington, VA Justice of the Peace providing for the payment of money owed to the Plank Road Company to be paid by Connery and Estill Apigneer. The document is signed by Charles Varner, a Mr. Phillips and Joel Edmondson and is dated 14 April 1852. This is an interesting & clean pre-war southern document.
