$175.00
MISS A letter written in Jackson, MS 20 August 1861 by J. H. Burnett AQMG to a Dr. Emmanuel, lays out Burnett's plan to solicit whatever blankets they may have to spare for Army use. He is willing to accept them as donations or pay for them with Confederate treasury notes. He asks Dr. Emmanuel to act as the agent of the QM Dept in this matter in Vicksburg. This is a handwritten letter penned in the brown/black ink used by the Confederacy and written on brownish paper measuring 8_" x 10_". It is in excellent condition with no tears or frays whatsoever. One more testimony to the difficulties the Confederate Army had supplying their troops with necessities.
