H42 - Imported M1860 Light Cavalry Saber

$697.50
This is the standard issue "light" cavalry combat sword, but ws manufactured by Kirschbaum of Solingen, a German manufacturer who produced a great many swords of various descriptions expressly for American use during the Civil War. The sword measures 40_" overall with a blade of 34_" and 1_" wide at the hilt. The ricasso is clearly stamped "Weyersburg Kirschbaum/Solingen." In construction, this saber is identical to those of American manufacture. The blade is mostly bright with a few age spots. The leather grip is original, but the wire wrapping is a good re-wrap. The scabbard is mostly dulled, but complete. In all, this is a representative cavalry saber in fine condition, but more affordable than those with American marked blades.
