The turreted castle worn during the Civil War on engineers' head gear, this is of the very large variety that were worn by the VMI cadets on their parade-dress, tall, plumed hats. This insignia measures 3 5/8" x 2", is made of stamped brass and has an even, chocolate patina. The two back hooks are missing. These are extremely scarce.
