This standard, regulation box plate measures @ 3_" x 2_" and was recovered near Chancellorsville in Virginia many years ago. The face has an even chocolate patina. There are two indentations in the "U" - probably from a digger's tool. There are very tiny rusted remnants of back hooks & the back solder is about _ intact. A very nice battle id'd artifact.
