This is an excellent, non-dug plate with both hooks. It is the standard, regulation box plate which measures 3_" x 2". It was made for the enlisted infantry from 1857 - 1863 with a die struck face made of rolled brass. The face is about 80% bright and there is a slight push on the left side of the rim and two pencil-point-sized indentations between the "U" and the "S". The back is lead-filled, and both iron loops are intact. A most handsome plate in excellent condition.
