Plate This is the handsome Pattern 1826 plate worn on the leather shoulder strap of the Infantryman's cartridge box. This one is an exceptionally nice, non-dug plate with lead-filled back and two wire hooks. It retains a fine gilt finish with virtually no patina. There is some slight wearing around the outer rim; my guess is that this was worn at some point. It has truly distinctive, large arrow heads It measures 2 1/4" in diameter and must be described as an extremely desirable plate.
